When it comes to the latest beauty trends and innovations, South Korea certainly leads the way, with a number of recent inventions that took the world by storm, including BB creams and cushion foundations.

According to market research portal Statista, the market size of beauty and personal care (BPC) products in South Korea saw an increase of USD 4.41 billion from 2010 (USD 8.58 billion) to 2014 (USD 12.99 billion), and is forecasted to worth about USD 17 billion by year 2018.

The country also has a thriving cosmetics manufacturing industry with increasingly huge exports to other countries, and is among the top 10 beauty markets in the world, according to Mintel research2.

Cosmoprof Asia continues to see a commanding presence of Korean exhibitors and products, supported by the Korea Trade Investment  Promotion Agency (KOTRA), this year.

With a total of 546 Korean companies participating in the fair, it was a 16% increase from last year. There are also 13 Korean pavilions across all product sectors in both exhibition venues, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE).

As the name of the exhibition, visitors showed great interest in the cosmetics on display. However, Daeyang's plasma equipment, which can be grafted with various skin care products, attracted considerable attention.
